custom invitation design
How
far in advance of my event should I order my invitations?
We encourage you to order your wedding invitations 5-6 months before your
wedding date. The standard mail date for wedding invitations is 6-8 weeks
before your wedding date. This ensures that you’ll have plenty of
time to address the envelopes and send to international addresses. For
our baby and social invitations, we recommend ordering approximately 1-2
months in advance to allow ample planning time for your shower event,
announcement, etc…
Can
you rush my order?
Although we recommend allowing ample planning time for your event, we
can expedite your order for a rush fee based on the final amount. This
fee allows us to work with our suppliers and printers to complete your
order by the time that you specify. If you require a rush order, we encourage
you to contact us as soon as possible with your complete event details.
Is
there a minimum order?
Yes, the minimum for wedding invitation sets is 25.
For custom baby and social announcements 25 is also the minimum.
How
long is the design process?
After your order is placed and deposit received we will begin designing!
Proofs are emailed within two weeks of your order. Our aim is to deliver
your wedding order 2-4 weeks from the date we receive your final written
approval. Occasionally during busy periods, orders may take 5-7 weeks
to complete (based on the availability of materials, suppliers stock availability
and holiday schedule) and we will advise you in advance if we anticipate
that.
Once
I have chosen a design concept I like, how many changes can I make to
it?
After choosing your preferred design from our mock-ups, you may have 2
complimentary rounds of edits to your chosen invitation design. There
is a $15 charge for additional edits that are requested. Most clients
edit their chosen design in 1-2 rounds before finalizing their perfect
invitation and do not need additional edits. If your changes require total
redesign or are significantly different from the original concept, you
may incur additional design fees.
When
should I verify the quantity of invitations/announcements needed?
Please be sure to provide the final number of invitations/announcements
needed at the time of placing your order. We will begin the production
of your invitations based on
the quantity you provided to us.
What
if I already have a design I like?
While we encourage you to show us samples of designs you like, we cannot
duplicate another designer's work. We prefer to include the concepts and
elements you like in a new design which is tailored just for you. However
if you see one of our designs that you like, we are happy to customize
it to your event.
Should
I order all of my event stationery together?
It is often more cost effective to order all of your event stationery
together (thank you cards, place cards, menu cards, programs, etc…)
and we offer discounts to clients who choose to do so. Your guests will
be impressed that not one detail was overlooked!
Will
you assemble the invitations for us?
We are happy to assemble your invitation sets should you prefer for us
to do so.
May
I receive envelopes early?
Yes, if you’d like to get a head-start on addressing envelopes we
can provide them to you earlier (if they are being printed we will provide
them to you once they are complete).
We can ship them to you earlier for a flat shipping fee of $10.95.
If
I did not order enough, can I buy more at the same price?
In most cases, unfortunately no- due to initial printing costs which are
incurred regardless of quantity ordered. We strongly encourage you to
order an additional 10% when you make your initial order to avoid this
problem. It is generally recommended to order extra invitations to account
for last-minute guests, ones lost in the mail or to save as keepsakes.
What
about errors in the design?
At Philosophia, we endeavor to be error-free. If, however, you discover
an error or omission in your printed artwork which was not on the final
version signed off by you, we will reprint your design at no expense to
you. If the error was on the proof you signed off from, the design will
be reprinted at your expense. It is very important and your responsibility
to ensure all text, design and details are correct at time of printing.
We suggest you ask a friend to proof-read your design before signing off.
Who
owns the design once it is completed?
Ownership of the design is retained by Philosophia and is subject to international
copyright law.
What
are your purchase policies?
payment methods
Philosophia accepts payments by Visa, MasterCard, American Express &
Checks in US funds.
Orders will be processed after the funds have cleared. Please allow 5-10
days for authorization of checks. There is a $30 charge for returned checks.

Once you have placed an order, a 50% deposit of your total order will
be charged to your account. Your remaining balance will be charged to
your credit card one day prior to delivery or shipment.

An Overview of the Design Process
Step
1: Design Consultation
During our initial consultation, we will offer suggestions to determine
a creative direction based on your ideas and style. Feel free to send
or bring swatches of your dress and/or magazine cutouts that reflect your
inspiration. Once a general concept has been agreed-upon, a price quote
is created based on your project. This typically takes 1-3 business days
and may vary based on the scale and intricacy of your design.
A 50% nonrefundable deposit will begin the process of ordering paper and
the initial design.
If wording is not finalized in the initial consultation, you may e-mail
those details to us as soon as possible. Once those details and deposit
are received we will begin designing!
Step 2: Presentation of Design
We will send you an email for your review within 2 weeks of placing an
order that will include digital proofs of each printed piece. Edits to
the design will take place in this stage. It is important to review each
detail including the spelling of names, places, times, dates, etc…
We are unable to accept changes over the phone.
So please email or provide your revisions to us in writing. Thank you!
Step
3: Final Proof
A final proof is presented to you via email to the address you provided
in the consultation.
Your final approval must be in writing via email before production can
begin.
We cannot accept approval over the phone. Once you have approved the final
proof,
Philosophia is not responsible for errors or additional changes.
So please review each piece carefully!
Step
4: Production & Delivery
Depending on the complexity of the design and items in-stock, the production
time from the final approval may take 2 to 5 weeks. We will advise you
of the expected delivery!

edits
You are strongly encouraged to carefully proofread and finalize your wording

Contact us immediately if you discover you need to adjust the quantity
of pieces you have ordered. We will attempt to retrieve the order before
the ordering of materials and production has begun. If you need to decrease
the quantity, we will be able to make the adjustment and credit you the
amount only if ordering, printing and/or production has not yet begun.
return
Please contact us as soon as possible if you have a concern with your
order. Because of the personalized nature of our products, invitations
and announcements are NON-refundable once an order is placed and begins
design & production. We are committed to assuring your satisfaction
and do our best to make sure each item is printed exactly as it is approved.
We will reprint any order when there has been a mistake made on our part
and you contact us within 48 hours from the date the product was delivered.
Unfortunately, we do not refund or accept returns on personalized or custom
orders for any other reason.
cancellation
We understand that sometimes clients will need to cancel their orders.
In this event, please notify us in writing through email or fax immediately.
If your invitations have been designed or goods / services ordered to
fulfill your order; i.e. paper, ink, plates, etc., the initial 50% deposit
shall be retained by Philosophia as a cancellation fee. Once a final approval
has been given, your order will immediately proceed to production so that
we can meet your deadline in a timely manner. Please contact our store
as soon as possible.
privacy
Philosophia is committed to ensuring your privacy. We do not sell client
names or information. We are committed to the security of your information.
pricing
Philosophia reserves the right to change prices without notice. From time
to time, we need to change prices based on operations, suppliers and production
cost increases.
shipping
In the event you would like to ship your order, orders will be shipped
to the address on file via USPS or UPS Ground. However, if you require
delivery sooner, we can send your order either overnight or 2-day delivery
and advise you of those charges. If you have an account with UPS or FedEx
that you prefer for us to use please provide us with those details.
tax
Orders shipped / delivered to destinations within California are subject
to the current sales tax rate (7.25%).
rush
orders
If our standard 4-6 week production schedule does not fit your timeframe,
we do consider rush orders. Rush orders may be charged an additional fee
based on the required timeframe and complexity. We cannot guarantee completion
dates for rush orders until final client approval has been received. Please
